Nominees for The Columbian's fall sports athlete of the week for the week of Nov. 5-10.
MONICA BOTTELBERGHE, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS SWIMMING: Bottelberghe won a 3A state title in the 200 freestyle in an All-American consideration time of 1:50.05 and placed second in the 100 freestyle in an automatic All-American time of 50.91.
EASTON KAWAWAKI, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS SOCCER: Kawawaki scored the only goal of the game in the 67th minute, sending the Chieftains over Meadowdale and into the Class 3A semifinals.
KARLEE LUBENOW, PRAIRIE VOLLEYBALL: The senior was selected MVP of the Class 3A state tournament, leading the Falcons to four wins and a state championship.
LAUREN ROOD, CAMAS GIRLS SOCCER: The freshman goalkeeper made six saves during regulation and overtime and three more in the penalty-kick shootout to help the Papermakers beat Mead and advance to the 4A state semifinals.
JULIA SANDERS, HOCKINSON GIRLS SWIMMING: Sanders capped her high school career with her ninth and 10th 2A state titles, winning the 200 individual medley in 2:05.09 and the 100 butterfly in 56.61 seconds.
