Contract Faculty Positions/ESL - TESOL Career Center

Contract faculty positions available August 16, 2013, for the academic year.? Responsibilities:? twelve-credit hour load each semester (sixteen contact-hours per week) teaching a variety of skills-based courses in the Intensive English Institute (reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, etc.); hold office hours; attend cohort and faculty meetings; collaborate with the administrative team and IEI colleagues to develop, revise, and improve the curriculum and procedures of the IEI.? Minimum qualifications:? M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Second Language Acquisition (SLA), or closely related field by date of appointment or M.A. in education, humanities, or social/cognitive sciences by date of appointment plus coursework/training in TESOL, SLA, or closely related field or comparable teaching experience; record of effective teaching at the college or university level; computer competency; ability to work as part of a team.? Preferred qualifications:? Ph.D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Second Language Acquisition (SLA), or closely related field by date of appointment; experience in curriculum revision and design; experience with project-based learning and teaching.?
